Tony Ferguson was introduced to vegetarianism through yoga at the age of 15. Tony has studied the biology of nutrition, products and food which propelled him to learn about healthy living and cooking. Tony is a local educator and artist in a variety of mediums, including a photography and video business with his wife, Anna. A vegetarian for over 25 years, Tony's knowledge of health, nutrition, and food brings an informed, lived, and creative approach to cooking vegetarian food and more recently "raw cooking" vegan foods.
Scott is the Chef and Owner of the New Scenic Cafe located on the North Shore Scenic Drive. He has taken an educational approach over the past 10 years at the New Scenic Cafe, working to provide high quality artisan foods while inviting the community to experience new cooking techniques and cuisine. Scott enjoys working with local and seasonal ingredients as well as picking herbs fresh from the Cafe garden.
Dave has been baking in his home for about 30 years now. He is always interested in experimenting with new breads and new techniques for handling bread in hopes of making the best bread possible. (We can assure you that his breads are indeed top notch!)
Original co-owner of the India Palace Restaurant in Duluth, Koresh learned at an early age how to blend spices, select ground provisions, fish, meats, etc., from his extended family with his mother and grandmother at the helm. In Duluth, he has been involved in cooking for various fundraisers, sometimes in private homes, and other times at church banquets, Indian weddings and festivals.
Tom's career began at Minneapolis' acclaimed Table of Contents Restaurant. Following Table of Contents, Tom worked as Executive Sous Chef at Beano's Cabin, rated among Colorado's top restaurants according to Bon Appetit Magazine. Tom worked at Bennett's on the Lake in Duluth before moving to Odyssey Development in 2002 when he was brought in as Executive Chef for Splashing Rock Restaurant. Linderholm has full responsibility for Splashing Rock Restaurant at Grand Superior Lodge, Ledge Rock Grille at Larsmont Cottages, BeachFire Grille, and Mogul's Restaurant.
Over twenty years ago, Debbie started her career in the food service industry by completing a 3-year chef's apprenticeship. She enjoys sharing her gourmet food secrets, revealing how to make delicious dishes in a short amount of time, and how to do so without feeling frazzled! Currently our in-house Deli Manager, Debbie brings a broad level of expertise to the table.
Lyndon is from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. He has lived all over the Caribbean and his personal style of cooking reflects a fusion of all the elements that makes the Caribbean so unique. He is the host of the Caribbean Roots Radio Show on KUMD Duluth Public Radio 103.3 FM and often offers recipes, drinks and cooking advice for Caribbean styled recipes. He is also a past employee and current member of the Whole-Foods Co-op.
Chris Rubesch is a Duluth resident and lifelong outdoor enthusiast. He spends much of his time training for and racing Ultra-Marathons with the Superior Performance Elite team. In addition, he and his wife Meg are avid runners, backpackers, and snowshoers whose adventures have taken them to 47 states and 6 continents.
As the editor of the Garbanzo Gazette, P & E Manager Shannon is no stranger to our many Members. Working in the natural foods industry for over 17 years, he has dedicated her life to teaching people about food and the many ways it affects us. She believes that you can save money and time by knowing how to cook.
Kate has been a staple of the Fog City Deli kitchen for 2 1/2 years now. Prior to the co-op, she worked in various restaurants and in catering for 8 years. (She's not one to brag, but is also an impeccable baker to boot). Kate believes appetizers are totally underrated, don't get enough attention in the home kitchen, and are crazy fun to create as well.
Emily White is a raw food enthusiast and hopes to get her business, Emily’s Raw Foods, off the ground shortly. She has taught various community ed. classes, and enjoys educating the Northland about raw food.
